Emotional Freedom Technique

Background

EFT was first discovered by Dr Callahan in 1980.  Whilst working with a patient and not making any progress with conventional methods, he tried tapping on specific energy points and as a result all of the patient’s symptoms disappeared.

After further study and development by Dr Callahan, followed by the founder of EFT, (Gary Craig).  EFT is now a therapy which is widely used and has been shown to help many people with various symptoms.

EFT is based on the knowledge that “the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system”

EFT involves a gentle tapping on the acupressure points at the end of the meridian lines and in doing so rebalances the energy disruptions resulting in the release of the client’s symptoms.  It is similar to Acupuncture but without the needles!

Who can benefit from EFT?

EFT is suitable for everyone from children to adults and even babies.

Animals can also benefit greatly, it can help to improve their behaviour and enhance their emotional well-being of abandoned or abused animals.

What is involved in a session?

A treatment lasts between 45 minutes and an hour.

The client will be seated in a comfortable chair to discuss with the practitioner what he/she would like to focus on, some background details will be taken, then using the tapping process the aim is to work on all aspects of the symptoms till they are no longer present.

The client will be shown how to tap so that in future EFT can be used on oneself giving the client control over his/her future well-being.

How many sessions will you need?

The number of sessions vary from one to several depending on how complex the areas of focus are. This will be discussed in the first treatment.

How much does a session cost?

Each session is £25

The meridian points we use to tap on the body are shown below:
